Important Information-Please Read

We are heartbroken over the tragic events that happened in Uvalde. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and educators.

At Oglesby ISD, we will be taking extra precautions in our last three days of school in light of these events.School Safety
- All gates will be closed/locked all day.
- Student drivers will need to walk around and enter through the front doors.
- Anyone coming to drop off students, drop off items for students, pick up a student, etc will need to stay in the front entrance area and not enter the building.
- Visitors are still welcome to attend the elementary awards assembly Wednesday morning. Please enter through the front doors to obtain a pass.
- You are also welcome to attend the elementary egg drop on Thursday afternoon. You will need to come through the front office to obtain a pass and then proceed to the courtyard area.
- Field Day is still planned for Friday at 9:00 am. You will go straight to the football field and enter through the front football field entrance. Parking will be at the football field only. If you are taking your child from field day, you will sign your child out at the field and leave from there.
- We do plan on having extra law enforcement presence so please don’t be alarmed if you see some at the school or school events.
- Graduation will still be held in the gym on Friday at 7:00 pm in the gym. We will only use the side gate/side door as the entrance.
- We will also diligently monitor morning drop off and dismissal.
-As always, if you see something suspicious, please contact us or law enforcement immediately.

Thank you so much for your cooperation and patience through these procedures. We want the last few days to be fun for the students while using some extra precautions to keep our students and staff safe.

Explanation of Occasional Changes to Lunch Menu

Lunch Menu ChangesIn December, Mrs. Wells, our Child Nutrition Director, sent out a letter to parents/guardians explaining why there have been more changes to the lunch menu than in past years. The text of that letter is shown below. Food deliveries are made weekly, so cafeteria staff don’t know until that delivery is received if the next week’s menu will stay as what was planned for the month.

Due to the supply chain uncertainty, we are not receiving the foods that we have had planned for our menus.  There are times when the food is not available and we have to substitute for something else.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.  We are doing our best to fulfill our menu but there may be times that it may change.  Thank you for your patience in this situation.
