Relay for Life Fundraiser —Friday, March 3rd—Duct Tape Mr. Maass to the Wall
Staff and students can pay $1 to participate in this fundraiser—Tape Mr. Maass to the Wall. For each $1 donation, you will be buying a strip of tape that will be used to tape Mr. Maass to the wall on Friday morning. If you donate $5, you will be paying for five strips of tape to use.
Please pay Mrs. Wells or Ms. Hoehn during the week to see if we can get enough money to keep Mr. Maass on the wall for several minutes..
Dr. Seuss Week
February 28-March 3, our school will be celebrating Dr. Seuss and the contributions he made to children’s literacy. The week will be full of fun activities, including the Seuss-themed bake sale.
The profit made from the bake sale will will go to the end-of-year field trip for the top Accelerated Readers.
See Mrs. Graves for details about the bake sale.
District of Innovation Plan
OISD is moving forward with the District of Innovation plan. The plan will allow the district to obtain more flexibility in order to better meet the unique needs of the district, students, and community. The full plan can be viewed here.
Congratulations Art Students at V.A.S.E Competition
Twenty-one art students competed in the District and Area V.A.S.E. competition in Harker Heights on Saturday, February 10th. Twenty-five of thirty-seven art projects advanced to Area.
Sam Key will be advancing to the state meet in San Antonio April 28-29 with one of his photographs.
New Lunch Prices
Student lunch prices are now $2.35 and adult prices are $3.50. This increase was necessary because of state requirements. OISD was below the state requirement and would have been penalized if we did not meet the minimum requirements.
If You Didn't Purchase Your 2015-16 Yearbook, It’s Not Too Late!
There is a limited quantity of last year’s yearbook still available for purchase. Cost is $30 each. See Ms. Hoehn to purchase or if you need more information. (If paying by check, please make payable to Oglesby ISD.)
Sign Up for District E-Notes
Parents, students and staff—sign up for district E-Notes to stay informed about bad weather days, early release, delayed starts, school events and other important information going on at school. We will no longer use the School Messenger notification system that would call and leave voice messages. E-Notes will be delivered either text or email (or both) depending on the method you select. Stay informed and get signed up now!
To subscribe to DISTRICT NOTIFICATIONS, enter your information on the left hand side of this page.
Each teacher will still have their individual E-Notes, but you will have sign up for each of those separately. The quickest way to do this is to go to each teacher’s webpage and sign up.

Oglesby Independent School District now has a Facebook Page!
It is our goal to use Facebook to recognize our student and staff accomplishments! Please note that we will post as often as time allows. Also note, we will not use Facebook for late starts, school closures, or unannounced early release days. You may sign up for District e-notes for those announcements and also follow our local TV/Radio stations. As always, our District website is the best source for current school information. Thank you for following the Tigers and Lady Tigers!
