2017-18 School Supply Start-up Information
Starting in the 2017-18 school year, OISD will not be providing start-up school supplies for each student. We will have class school supply lists available in the school office for all grades. In addition, we will provide the Gatesville Walmart with school supply lists for grades PK-5, as well as posting here on our website.
Oglesby ISD is now enrolling students for 2017-18 school year
Please come by and visit our great school! OISD has the best teachers in the area!
We are also now accepting transfer students for 2017-18. If your child is seeking a great small school atmosphere that offers small classes, one on one instruction, and opportunities to participate in a variety of athletics, OISD is just the place! We look forward to serving your child!
It’s Time to Order Your 2016-17 Yearbook
Cost of the yearbook is $30. Order forms are available in the principal’s office or can be printed from this link. If you wish to pay by credit card, you can order online here. Yearbooks will not be delivered until the start of school next year. Please see Ms. Hoehn if you have any questions.
District of Innovation Plan
OISD is moving forward with the District of Innovation plan. The plan will allow the district to obtain more flexibility in order to better meet the unique needs of the district, students, and community. The board adopted final plan can be viewed here.
New Lunch Prices
Student lunch prices are now $2.35 and adult prices are $3.50. This increase was necessary because of state requirements. OISD was below the state requirement and would have been penalized if we did not meet the minimum requirements.
Sign Up for District E-Notes
Parents, students and staff—sign up for district E-Notes to stay informed about bad weather days, early release, delayed starts, school events and other important information going on at school. We will no longer use the School Messenger notification system that would call and leave voice messages. E-Notes will be delivered either text or email (or both) depending on the method you select. Stay informed and get signed up now!
To subscribe to DISTRICT NOTIFICATIONS, enter your information on the left hand side of this page.
Each teacher will still have their individual E-Notes, but you will have sign up for each of those separately. The quickest way to do this is to go to each teacher’s webpage and sign up.
Like Us on Facebook
Oglesby Independent School District now has a Facebook Page!
It is our goal to use Facebook to recognize our student and staff accomplishments! Please note that we will post as often as time allows. Also note, we will not use Facebook for late starts, school closures, or unannounced early release days. You may sign up for District e-notes for those announcements and also follow our local TV/Radio stations. As always, our District website is the best source for current school information. Thank you for following the Tigers and Lady Tigers!
2017-18 School Calendar
One additional note:
Built into next years calendar are 5 accelerated instructional days (they are highlighted in orange on the calendar). These will be at the end of each six weeks with the exception of the last six weeks. Students who have not met standard on the 2016-17 STAAR test, those who have an unsatisfactory classroom grade, those with excessive tardies and absences will be required to attend the accelerated instructional days as assigned by administration. Our goal is to provide additional instruction for students that can benefit from one on one in specific areas needed. These days will run from 8:30 am until 11:00 am on each of the 5 days. There will not be breakfast, lunch, or transportation provided. We will provide notification to each parent whose child will be required to attend. In addition, please stress to your child the importance of working hard and being at school daily. Thank you for allowing us to serve your child! If you have any questions, please contact the school.
