I graduated from Hamilton High School in 1980. I have since received a certificate in Floriculture and Ornamental Horticulture from TSTC in Waco, an Associates in Science in Medical Records from Temple College, and a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Tarleton State University. I graduated from all schools with honors. I am working toward my composite science certification and my Masters in Educational Administration.
I am certified to teach PK through sixth grade, 4 – 8 science with ESL and Gifted and Talented. I am working on my high school composite science certification.
I am continually developing my profession through my master's program, workshops at Region 12, professional literature, collaboration with peers, and most importantly by spending time with the children in my classroom making observations, asking questions, and obtaining feedback on my delivery of the content.
This is my second year at Oglesby ISD. . This year I will have the priviledge and challenge of working with secondary science students.
I spent the previous nine years at McGregor ISD. I have taught fourth and fifth grade science and fifth grade social studies. I have a quarter of a century of experience working with children. Prior to returning to college, I worked in child care as a teacher, as an administrator, and as an owner of a facility.
I married my dearest friend on January 2, 2016. We live on the family ranch here in Oglesby. We both enjoy the outdoors and tending to the animals on our place. Between us, we have five children, eight grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
I am an avid reader. I especially enjoy historical fiction novels. At home, I love to work in our yard, garden, fish, hunt, tend the animals, and just be outside. I also enjoy crochet and refinishing furniture. We both stay busy with our family and love to travel.
