Letterman Jackets
A representative from Herff Jones will be on campus Thursday, January 28th at 9:00 am to measure/fit the students getting their letterman jackets this year. The school covers the cost of the jacket and the patch that the student letters in. If they want their name on their jacket or additional patches, the parent/students must pay for those. Students getting jackets will receive a packet with pricing information and images of the patches so they can do some advance planning.
Students who already have jackets will be given the opportunity to meet with the representative after the fitting if they want to purchase patches. A price list will also be sent home with them.
UIL Eligibility Calendar
Any student that participates in a UIL event, much follow guidelines put in place by UIL pertaining to grades and eligibility on when the can participate and when they can’t participate. See the attached calendar for the specifics.
Ticket Policy for Basketball Games
In order to comply with UIL guidelines and district athletic committee guidelines, OISD has implemented a new plan for fans wanting to attend home basketball games. Seating capacity for both Oglesby fans and visitors is limited to 90 people each side. Face coverings are required to enter and must remain on during the games. Admission is $3.00 per person (same price for students and adults) for both junior high and high school games. Cleaning/disinfecting protocols will be followed for all games. The complete policy can be found here.
Oglesby ISD Plan for 2020-21 School Year
Oglesby ISD has outlined its plan for the 20-21 school year. Because of the ever changing situation with COVID numbers and both state and TEA guidelines/mandates, this information is subject to change. Any updates/changes will be posted here as well as the school Facebook page.
We will begin school on August 12th. We will also offer remote instruction. Please see detailed information in the link below.
Please note: The remote instruction will look DRASTICALLY different than last spring. It will be all online. It will require the student to be in attendance (online) during the entire school day with the same rigor of instruction and assignments as in person instruction.
We will have a survey that parents need to fill out for each student to let us know which form of instruction you choose. You will need to commit for a grading period (9 weeks). We will get this out by the end of the week.
Stop Bullying/Cyberbullying
In compliance with David’s Law, Oglesby ISD is now using the Stop!t app to allow students/parents to anonymously report bulling. When an anonymous report is filed, the school will notify the parent of the student being bullied to discuss the problem and the options available.
To report a case of bullying, click on the Stop!t logo and use the code Tigers#01 The app can also be downloaded on your mobile device. Go to your App Store and search for the Stop!t bullying app.
2017 Accountability Rating
TEA just released the new accountability ratings for Texas schools and Oglesby ISD is rated as Met Standard. To view the scores for the four indexes, click here.
District of Innovation Plan
OISD is moving forward with the District of Innovation plan. The plan will allow the district to obtain more flexibility in order to better meet the unique needs of the district, students, and community. The board adopted final plan can be viewed here.
