The public release of the preliminary 2007 AYP data tables and results occurred at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 through the TEA public website. Public versions of the AYP data tables are masked in order to comply with the federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. The public AYP results will also include the preliminary AYP and SIP status labels and may be accessed at http://www.tea.state.tx.us/ayp.

TEA has announced that Oglesby ISD earned a

Superior Rating

on the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST)

Oglesby ISD has received the highest rating of Superior Achievement under the 2007 School FIRST (Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas). The current superintendent’s contract and reimbursements to the superintendent and board members for the 2005-2006 school year is included in the management report as required. The School FIRST rating was based upon an analysis of staff and student data reported for the 2005-2006 school year, and budgetary and actual financial data for the 2006 fiscal year period ending August 31, 2006.

Within two months after receipt of the final School FIRST rating, which was on 8/23/07, each school district was to announce and hold a public meeting to distribute a financial management report that explained the district’s performance under each of the 21 indicators for the current and prior year and the district’s rating. The first of two notices in the newspaper to inform the taxpayers of the meeting was not to be more than 30 days prior to or less than 14 days prior to the public meeting, in accordance with Title 19, TAC, Section 109.1005. Oglesby ISD posted notices in the Gatesville Messenger on Wednesday 8/29 and Wednesday, 9/5 announcing that a public meeting to disseminate this information was scheduled in combination with the regular monthly board meeting held on Monday, 9/24 @ 6:30.
